At Mana, we like to keep it tight. We’re a close-knit crew, working collaboratively in our office based in the heart of Wellington. We work hard to achieve exceptional results for our clients, and we always aim to have fun doing it.
Team culture really matters to us and while culture goes much deeper than employee benefits, areas of commitment and work perks are a good indicator of our priorities. Below is a package of perks each team member gets to enjoy.
Feel free to send in your CV anytime if you’re interested in being part of our team.
We are committed to:
- Te ao Māori
- At Mana Communications, we take our commitment to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi seriously. This includes offering free te reo Māori training sessions if required, marae visits and learning, undertaking Te Tiriti o Waitangi workshops, and working pro-bono with Māori clients when applicable.
- Pro-bono work
- We encourage all Mana employees to find pro-bono cause they care about and offer our communications services pro-bono. This has led our team to work with amazing organisations like Wellington Sexual Abuse HELP Foundation, Zealandia, and the Australian Veterans Association.
- Healthy work-life balance
- We work pretty hard here at Mana, so make sure that we demonstrate a real commitment to a healthy work-life balance. We work fairly consistent set hours, with limited overtime – and recognised when required. Further, we have regular work-from-home days with at least one scheduled company-wide per week, and flexibility to work from home more if you need to get through stuff.
- 9 – day fortnight
- Every two weeks, we take a Monday off. Over the course of the year, this policy means our team annually enjoys an extra 26 days of leave on full pay.
- Long service = long leave
- If you stay with Mana Communications for 5 years, you’ll be gifted an additional 5 weeks’ annual leave that year on top of your usual 4-week allocation.
- Social activities
- Our two offices enjoy regular work-sponsored social time – such as knocking off for Friday drinks, and team lunches to celebrate birthdays. Our team will take any chance they can get to pop out for some good kai or a sunny beverage after a busy week.
- Wellness activities
- As a company, we try and arrange a weekly wellness activity – often this is yoga, an ocean swim, or an hour-long team walk.
- Phone allowance
- All employees at Mana Communications are paid a monthly phone allowance of $50 per month to cover the heavy phone usage that comes with working in a communications role.
- Development opportunities
- All Mana team members are entitled to find courses, development opportunities or training that they’d like to undertake to enhance their professional skills – and Mana will foot the bill.
- Dog friendly offices
- Our office is dog friendly. Check out our ‘Team’ page to see who your furry companions might be.
